Invitation to Tender for Researcher / Curriculum Writer - Scaffolding Apprenticeship

Laois and Offaly Education and Training Board invites tenders from Experienced Practitioners in Scaffolding Operations and Training to research and develop curriculum for a Scaffolding Apprenticeship.

The project will commence immediately, leading to submission of a validation application to QQI in October 2018. As part of the validation process, the Researcher/ Curriculum Writer is expected to prepare for, and participate as part of the validation team for the QQI Validation Site Visit (which is likely to take place in March/April 2019).

Tenderers must include the following documentation as part of their Tender:-

  1. Price - Fixed Price Rate (excluding VAT at 23%) for the Project
  2. Copy of current Insurances
  3. Copy of current ETax Clearance details
  4. Copy of relevant qualifications
  5. Details of relevant experience

Tenders must arrive not later than 12:00 noon on Wednesday 16th May 2018,

in a sealed envelope clearly marked

Laois and Offaly ETB, Ridge Road, Portlaoise, Co. Laois.

Tenders will be scored based on the following criteria:
1. Relevant Qualifications:
   - Essential: CSCS Scaffolding Advanced Certification or equivalent
   - Desirable: Experience of providing training in Scaffolding, in Ireland or elsewhere

2. Pricing:
A project rate, on a fixed price basis, (excluding VAT at 23%) must be provided which consists of remuneration for the following tasks:
a) Research of scaffolding industry and different scaffolding apprenticeship models used in other countries
b) Devise apprenticeship and module content to required standard
c) Attendance at Consortium Steering Group meetings
d) Representation at the QQI Validation Panel
e) Consultation and collaboration with relevant stakeholders
f) Provision of fortnightly progress reports to Project Lead and Programme Coordinator

3. Availability:
The successful applicant must confirm that he or she will be available to work on this project (commencing immediately) for up to two days per week for the duration of the project (including weekdays)

4. Relevant Experience:
The successful tenderer must have relevant experience in the scaffolding industry, either directly on-site or as a trainer.
